Songwriter Mr. Rodney Crowell, Scarritt Bennet Center, Nashville, TN
Collection of all songwriters from our session Nashville, Aug 2023

Peter Asher and Beth Nielsen Chapman after a songwriting Critique session - reviewed my song Band Of Gold.

One of the main reasons I went to Nashville was to work with Gretchen Peters. I've admired her incredible songwriting talents for a long time and I was so excited to get an opportunity to learn from her. She did not disappoint. Epic!

We had an opportunity to hear Rodney Crowell interview John Hiatt about his songwriting and career. Nominated for 9 Grammy awards and creator of 22 studio albums, two compilation albums and one live album John Hiatt is a music tour de force.

Bill Payne, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting this wonderfully authentic and generous hearted man. He was funny and share so many stories about his life and experiences in the music industry touring with his band Little Feat. His incredible talents as a keyboard player combined with his breadth of music knowledge made him a magical musical unicorn for me.

Well known for her music which was sync licenced to HBO TV show True Detective - Lera Lynn is a talented multi-instrumentalist, creator and producer of her own music pictured here with my fellow Canadian attendee Linda MacLeod - who is from Halifax and is related to Rita MacNeil by marriage (small world and what a coincidence that we should meet after I had recorded my Rita MacNeil tribute album.)

John Paul White, who is a talented singer and songwriter who is half of the 4 time Grammy Award winning super group The Civil Wars.

Highly sought after producer, Cerebral and deeply felt lyricist, songwriter and charismatic performer Joe Henry.

Incredibly talented Dan Raza from the United Kingdom

A new friend and Nashville treasure - Judith Maxine Barnett.

Keep your ears and eyes open for this uber talented young songwriter who is going to make her mark in the music world - Sarah Henderson.

More young musicians to watch - there was so much passion and talent. I can't wait to say "I knew them when they were just starting out in this business!"

Peter Asher on break "Underneath the Apple Tree on his Apple Three" - Just kidding. Cute pic though.
Dan Raza's commanding performance at the final concert earned him a rousing standing ovation - "Rampur Rain" - a moving song you need to see performed live or at least listen to once he releases a recording of it.
David Bailey was an amazing singer songwriter who performed songs that find their way deep into your soul and resonate with heartfelt human experience.
After Concert photo opps. What a great experience! Only problem? Four days just simply isn't enough time.
More photo opps back at Loews Lobby and bar post final concert
Every night you'd find these intrepid musicians jamming and entertaining in the Loews lobby into the wee hours.
Three new friends who had a ball getting to know each other.

Sharon and Nick - thanks for your kindness and friendship.

Meet my new friend Susan, another very talented musician and songwriter.

Bill Edwards helped facilitate the songwriting sessions and performed for us on several occasions. A really talented musician and songwriter - who also is a good buddy of my producer and friend Scott Neubert
